In Nehemiah 8:10, the people are reminded to celebrate a holy day by eating well, sharing generously, and most importantly, holding onto joy. This divine joy is not superficial happiness but a deep, sustaining strength that keeps us resilient. It encourages us not to be weighed down by sorrow, for God’s joy acts as a spiritual fuel that revives our hearts and renews our courage.
